How to style your online dating profile

Your profile picture for online dating is super important.
You can’t choose just any old selfie. It really has to be a show stopper. Literally! As you want men to see it and immediately stop swiping, admire you and give a swipe right praying that you will swipe right for him too.

Your online dating profile pictures job is to attract the man of your dreams to you.
You want this to be your magnet, your pull.

It is always best to go to a professional photographer and get someone who knows what they’re doing. However, I know that this is not always possible, and sometimes we have to make do with what we have got till we can do better. So if you would like to learn how to style your own online dating profile, you’re in the right place!

How many.
You will only need two pictures.
A face shot and a full-body shot.

Look your best.
Your first profile picture is the first thing he will see; you want to make sure you’re looking your best!
Best hair.
Best makeup.
Best dress.
Best smile.
You want to look happy relaxed with a Colgate smile.

Feel your best.
To ensure you look your best, you should feel your best.

Eyes
You should be looking at the camera.
Ditch the glasses so you can showcase your beautiful eyes.
Glasses will cast a shadow and cause a reflection that will hide your eyes. They often make your eyes appear smaller too.
Your eyes are the window of your soul.
Add a little highlighter to the inner corners to brighten them up for a fresh, awake look.
Lots of mascara, or even better, wear falsies for an effortless flirty look.

Smile
Your smile is very important too.
No pouting, no duck lips, no kissy lips.
Show your pearly whites, wear bright lipstick or, even better red lipstick.
A nice warm smile.
No resting bitch face.

Makeup
Wear your best make up, and blend blend blend.
We don’t want any harsh lines.
By all means, do contour and highlight but blend to achieve a seamless look.

Hair
You want your hair to look its best.
If you can, do get a professional blow-dry.
If not, make sure you practice doing it yourself beforehand.
You want bouncy, healthy, shiny styled hair framing your beautiful face.
You want it loose and cascading down your shoulders.
If your hair is short, it’s totally worth getting extensions, the best ones you can afford.
Make sure your hair colour is fresh to ensure maximum shine.

Dress
Of course, wear a dress. However, you should go for pink or red or something bright for this particular picture. Choose a hue that will compliment your complexion.
This will ensure you stand out in a sea of everyone wearing black.
Something form-fitting and flattering to your figure.
No baggy stuff, no trousers.

Lighting
Take advantage of the natural light by standing in front of your window.
Stay away from overhead lighting, which is the enemy.

Posing
No power posing and no action shots. No sexy posing.
You should be posing in your most zen state.
Relaxed, happy, face the camera, smile.

Background
The background of your picture should be as plain as possible.
No clutter, no people, no scenery, no distractions.
The product is you.

Props
No props are necessary, no dogs, no children, no friends, no stroking tiger.
Just you.

Your full body shot
For your full body picture, stand nice and tall, angle yourself into the most flattering pose, use a friend or family member for this or use the little Bluetooth shutter from your selfie stick or the time delayer from your camera. Then, prop your phone in a secure place and take as many selfies as you can to select the winner later.
This picture is very important, and everyone should have it.
Wear a form-fitting flattering dress.
Wear high heels. The highest!
