For any rules girl, the most pressing question on Valentine’s Day is:⠀

What about the gifts??? 🎁 ⠀

Single girls, maybe you are on dates 1,2,3 or date 8. ⠀
⠀
First of all, make sure you have a date set for Valentine’s Day or the Saturday after at the very least. ⠀
⠀
Your gift will be the most amazing gift you have ever given. YOU. 💝⠀
⠀
You gift him nothing as you are the gift.
⠀
Let me say this again. ⠀
⠀

All you need to do is: ⠀
Show up looking gorgeous ⠀
Smell beautiful
Smile⠀
Be light and breezy ⠀
You thank him for his gift and for the date and any of his efforts. ⠀

Don’t forget to relax and actually enjoy the date!!! ⠀
If you’re past the 3 months mark and he’s on his best behaviour.

You absolutely don’t have to, but if the fear of showing up without a gift it’s just too much, then if you’ve been dating for over 6 months, you can buy him a small, inexpensive gift.

A book about one of his hobbies. 📖
A coffee mug if he likes coffee ☕️ ⠀
It’s important that your gift is inexpensive, so if you buy a scarf, don’t get a cashmere one; if you buy a T-shirt, don’t buy a ridiculously expensive bespoke one. Do not personalise nor engrave any of your gifts.
Make sure it fits in your bag, so you keep it there and only give it to him after he’s produced yours.

When should he book me for?
He should book you at least 2 weeks in advance for any major holiday. ⠀⠀

Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
So if he’s not booked you by 1st February, you have already made plans. ⠀⠀
Because Valentine’s Day doesn’t often fall on the weekend and we often all have to work, he might offer to take you out on the Saturday instead. ⠀

This year V day falls closer to Saturday 16th February, and it’s perfectly ok that your date is on this Day as long as he books you 2 weeks ahead.

Unless you’re married or engaged, avoid Valentine’s Day cards unless otherwise directed by your coach.

What about if you just met him?
Do I have to say no to Valentine’s Day date requests because he didn’t ask early enough in advance???⠀

If you meet a guy any time from 1st February and he asks you out for Valentine’s Day, and you’re free, and he did Everything right on date zero, and you like him, then yes!!!! ⠀

Go ahead and have a great time!
It’s not his fault he didn’t meet you before the deadline. ⠀
The reason for this deadline is not to keep you single or dateless but to keep you away from Mr wrong as Mr Right will book you waaaay ahead. Mr Right wouldn’t risk the chance of not booking you in advance.

How long should my Valentines date be?

It all depends first on the length of the relationship, so stick to the normal date times. ⠀

He might prepare something special for before or after dinner, in which case you can stay longer. I don’t want you jumping out of balloons rides if you suddenly realise you’ve been out for 5 hours already! 🎈 ⠀

Same thing for helicopters rides 🚁 or boat strolls 🚣♀️ lol. ⠀
⠀
If your date is only a dinner date, then you can end the date after dinner. You don’t drag the date just because it’s Valentine’s Day.
If your Valentine’s date is just dinner, know that this is totally fine; in fact, it’s great, you’re a very lucky girl.

What if I’m single?
Single girls on Valentine’s not only can go out on their own, but they should. There are lots of single parties on this Day so get yourself a ticket to one of those. ⠀

Nowadays, there are Valentine’s Day parties for singles, anti-Valentine’s Day parties and Galentine’s Day parties too, so dress up and don’t forget your dancing shoes 👠 ⠀

Valentine’s Day is all about giving and receiving love. ⠀

What if you’re single? ⠀

Well, you probably have parents or other family members, great friends that you love as well. So call them and show them some love. ⠀

You might have a great rules girlfriend support network.⠀
Call them and tell them you love them. Tell them it is Galentine’s Day and go celebrate together. ⠀
Call or text them and tell them you appreciate their love and support if they’re far. Wish them well. ⠀

And last but not least you have the most important person whom you have the most important relationship of your life to think of.⠀

Wear your best blue or your best green or your best black! ⠀

A few reasons why:

In a sea of everyone wearing red, you’ll stand out in a great way. ⠀
It will appear like your brain didn’t even register that it’s Valentine’s Day and, therefore, consistent with your busy attitude so far. ⠀
I’m not saying that wearing red will make you look desperate but who wants to run the risk? ⠀

A rules girl always gets treated like a princess, and on Valentine’s Day, he should show up with gifts, cards, romantic dinners or flowers 🌹 ⠀

It really depends on his personality really. ⠀
Some men go to town flowers wise⠀
Some others will write poems⠀
Some men will buy you food as in show up with chocolates, cakes, elaborate dinners. ⠀
Some men are into jewellery. ⠀
Some men will buy you a weekend trip. ⠀
Some men will buy you a new phone to make sure you receive his messages as oops, so many go unanswered lol.⠀

The most important thing is that the gift is romantic, as per my examples above. ⠀
If he doesn’t buy you a romantic gift on Valentine’s Day nor takes you out for dinner, he’s a NEXT.

Stay busy till Sunday night. (If you’re in the USA then till Monday night due to President’s Day)

Deadzone begins the evening before Valentine’s Day.

Once you get married, the rules change, but one thing stays the same. ⠀
You should still remain feminine and lean back. ⠀

You have married Mr Right, yay! ⠀

You might have noticed that your husband is probably very masculine and, therefore, very giving. However, you might have noticed as well that he’s not great at receiving. ⠀

This, of course, varies from man to man. God did not create all rules, men equal. ⠀
Some men will warn you, “Don’t buy me anything “, or they won’t warn you but complain if you buy him gifts. The thing is that you buying the gift will put you on your masculine energy, and he will not enjoy this. So be very kind and just don’t Respect his wishes and don’t buy him anything. Perhaps you can make him his favourite meal or pack him a special lunch for work.
He might be neutral to gifts, in which case you can buy him something small as a loving token, but you don’t have to.⠀
He might love gifts!!! This type of husband will go all out and will spend the whole of February getting you little bits and pieces. He’ll buy you a big gift, a small gift, a pre gift, and great dinners and a night out. (My friend is married to this guy, lol). You can pretty much get him anything for this type and will still get it right because his giving energy will always be greater. And he loves gifts so much also enjoys receiving them. Just don’t Victoria Beckham on him and buy him a Rolex lol.⠀
